Claude Théoret (He/him)

Senior AI Advisor, Innovobot

Claude Théoret (aged 55) is the senior AI advisor and acting operational partner at Innovobot .  He had previously founded and exited Nexalogy, one of Canada’s first AI companies.  He has authored two patents in the field unsupervised learning. He played an active role in the birth and growth of Québec’s startup ecosystem. He was one of the top 40 startup mentors in the worldwide Founder Institute network.  And is now an angel investor and mentor of several data oriented startups.

A former Professor of Astrophysics he forged his technical skillset at the inception of bigdata and the web, while working with CERN he built his first website in 1994. 

One of the founding members of McGill University’s astronomy department, Claude was ranked first in the astronomy and astrophysics postdoctoral fellowship competition in Québec. He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Collège de France as a member of the prestigious HESS Collaboration (where he published twice in Nature and once in Science). After teaching as a professor of physics and statistics at the American University in Paris, Claude focused his analytical expertise on Co-Word Analysis, Actor Network Theory and their practical applications.  

Claude has done deep AI driven political and military intelligence work.

In 2019 after his successful exit from Nexalogy, he was appointed COO of Intema Solutions Inc  a pubiclu traded small cap company and engineered a growth by acquisition strategy.

He is now a partner in his own micro VC and is an LP in several Canadian VC funds.

Claude has been an invited speaker at SXSW, InfoPresse and Creative Mornings, Datavore, TEDxMcGill, BigData Toronto, Startupfest, New York Internet week and many more conferences.   Nexalogy finished 5th in the CIX top 20 startups in Canada in 2011 and won the best startup demo prize at the inaugural Startup Festival.
