Kimia Shafighi is the CEO of Biocene, a company dedicated to sustainable water quality improvement and harnessing the potential of algae biomass to create sustainable biofuel, biocoke, and bioplastic. With a background in bioengineering and AI from McGill University, Kimia is committed to providing innovative solutions for sustainable development. She co-founded McGill Biodesign, led the award-winning Algo project, and has presented her work at the United Nations Headquarters. Through her leadership at Biocene, Kimia integrates cutting-edge technology and environmental stewardship to address pressing global challenges, making significant strides in the field of clean technology.
