Andrew Cleland (he/him)

Chief Investment Officer, Techstars

Andrew Cleland is the Chief Investment Officer of Techstars. His responsibilities include providing strategic leadership for the accelerator investment selection process globally, directing Techstars’ fundraising strategy, and developing its investment products. Andrew has two decades of years of experience as a venture investor, along with several years of operational experience at startup companies. He joins Techstars from Comcast Ventures (“CV”) where he was a Managing Director for eleven years. He built CV’s East Coast office and team, while also founding CV’s Enterprise Seed Investment and Entrepreneur-in-Residence programs. Previously, he was Managing Director of Investments at Time Warner Investments, where he focused on early-stage media and technology companies. Andrew has invested over $100 million across themes including big data, artificial intelligence, robotics, and marketing tech. Andrew holds or held numerous boards including Fanduel, Data+Math, Regatta Data, and Juganu.

Andrew lives in New York with his wife and two children. Outside of work he likes to paint, and to run around after soccer balls and tennis balls.
