Sophie Silkes (she/her)

Sophie Silkes is the Director of Strategic Engagement at COAST -- the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies. Sophie has over a decade of experience in engagement strategy, program design, and communications at the intersection of science, technology, and sustainability. She has worked across the spectrum of impact with partners like the United Nations, IBM, the McConnell Foundation, and B Lab. Most recently, Sophie was the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing at Sustainable Ocean Alliance, where she developed global engagement programs and supported dozens of startups through the Ocean Solutions Accelerator.
