Nicole LeBlanc

Associate Director, Strategic Investments & Partnerships, Business Development Bank of Canada

Nicole LeBlanc joined BDC Capital in 2014 as Associate Director, Strategic Investments and Partnerships. In this position, she actively manages the BDC convertible note program and associated investment portfolio of 100+ early stage startups. She has over 10 years of experience as a financial and investment professional, with a focus on early-stage financing opportunities and community building. Before joining BDC Capital, Nicole was Director of Finance for New Brunswick Innovation Fund (NBIF) where she played a central role in their investment activities, negotiations and business development, and oversaw their internal and external reporting. She actively worked with the portfolio companies, providing advisory services and support to early-stage companies in a variety of industries. A dynamic member of the Maritime start-up community, Nicole also worked as an investment analyst with the First Angel Network and as a professional financial consultant with many IT and Medtech companies in Nova Scotia. Nicole began her career as a staff accountant and later as an admin controller at Ganong Chocolates, where she participated in all aspects of the company’s financial and management accounting functions. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
