While AI has been improving for decades, it vaulted into the public consciousness in 2022 with two breakthroughs: Chatbots that seemed to reason with language, and generative tools that could turn text or sketches into incredibly realistic images. And since such tools are trained on code, they're fundamentally rewriting the economics of how we create software and structure the tech companies that build it.

Paige Bailey has been at the center of this revolution, both as the Director of ML and MLOps at GitHub, and in her current role as the Lead Product Manager for Generative Models at Google Deepmind.
